Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has commissioned a skills acquisition centre, a Hisbah office and two mass transit vehicles in Matazu Local Government Area, alongside the delivery of 100 motorcycles under a constituency empowerment programme.

The interventions were unveiled on Wednesday at the Matazu Local Government Secretariat as part of initiatives targeting skills development, transportation, security, youth empowerment and support for vulnerable residents.
According to a statement issued by the Katsina State Government, the 100 motorcycles delivered at the event were provided by the Member representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, Dujiman Katsina, as part of his constituency empowerment programme.

The governor commended the lawmaker for his interventions and commitment to expanding economic opportunities for constituents, particularly young people and other beneficiaries.
Radda also welcomed Ahmed’s announcement of an additional 500 motorcycles for beneficiaries across Matazu and Musawa, saying the initiative would extend access to economic opportunities within the federal constituency.

The lawmaker also announced 560 employment opportunities for constituents, including efforts to facilitate permanent and pensionable appointments for qualified beneficiaries.

Radda said the interventions demonstrated the importance of collaboration between the state government, local councils, elected representatives and community stakeholders in addressing the socio-economic needs of residents.
Skills centre, Hisbah office commissioned
The governor also commissioned the Haj. Zulaihat Dikko Radda Skills Acquisition Centre and the Hisbah Division Office as part of the projects unveiled during the event.
He acknowledged the support of the First Lady of Katsina State, Haj. Zulaihat Dikko Radda, through the Gwagware Foundation, particularly its assistance to caregivers of orphans and other less-privileged members of society.
Radda urged beneficiaries of the empowerment programmes to use the materials and opportunities productively, saying the broader objective was to improve livelihoods, strengthen families and contribute to community development.
Speaking earlier, Ahmed said his constituency interventions were designed to complement government efforts by providing direct economic opportunities to residents at the grassroots.
The lawmaker said the initiatives were also inspired by the grassroots development approach of the Radda administration, particularly its emphasis on youth empowerment, support for vulnerable groups and the creation of opportunities for self-reliance.
Ahmed explained that the 100 motorcycles formed part of his constituency empowerment programme and announced plans to distribute another 500 motorcycles across Matazu and Musawa Local Government Areas.
According to him, the motorcycles were intended to provide beneficiaries with means of livelihood and mobility while stimulating economic activity at the grassroots.
He also disclosed that his office had secured 560 employment opportunities for constituents and was pursuing permanent and pensionable appointments for beneficiaries.
Ahmed pledged to continue seeking additional employment and empowerment opportunities through his office and urged beneficiaries to make productive use of the support provided.
He also called on constituents to maintain peaceful coexistence, support community development and urged APC members to remain united and committed to the progress of the constituency.
