FG Identifies 65 Investment Projects to Drive Nigeria’s Growth Ambition

Nigerian government officials outline investment opportunities and economic reform priorities aimed at achieving 7 per cent growth by 2027/2028.

The Federal Government has unveiled 65 investment opportunities across key sectors of the economy as Nigeria targets 7 per cent economic growth by 2027/2028.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, disclosed this during an investment engagement, saying the government was prioritising job creation, infrastructure development and sustained economic expansion.

Special Adviser on Macroeconomic Policy, Professor Bright Eregha, said ongoing reforms had strengthened the economy, with inflation trending downward and the domestic capital market expanding from less than ₦30 trillion in May 2023 to more than ₦160 trillion.

Eregha also said Nigeria’s economy grew by 4.4 per cent in the second quarter of 2026, adding that the next phase of reforms would focus on attracting investment to improve productivity and reduce poverty.

Deputy Governor for Economic Policy at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Philip Ikeazor, attributed the moderation in inflation and improved economic resilience to monetary policy, foreign exchange reforms and stronger coordination between fiscal and monetary authorities.

Special Adviser on Economic Strategy, Idris Bello Osagie, disclosed that the government had established a Deal Room to connect investors with 65 projects spanning oil and gas, power, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, technology, healthcare and other sectors.

Oyedele identified agriculture, electricity supply, inflation, regulatory efficiency and access to reliable economic data as key priorities for the next phase of the government’s economic reforms.

Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Yemi Cardoso said the reforms were helping to restore investor confidence and strengthen the country’s ability to withstand global economic shocks.

The officials called on domestic and international investors to take advantage of the identified opportunities, stressing that increased investment would be critical to achieving sustainable economic growth, improving productivity and creating jobs.
