Oluremi Tinubu To Launch Food Bank Programme In Ogun

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu is expected in Ogun State on Tuesday to launch the zonal National Community Food Bank programme, which will provide food items to vulnerable and indigent residents.

The programme will begin in Makun, Sagamu, and is expected to bring together major stakeholders as part of efforts to strengthen the Federal Government’s social intervention programmes and support vulnerable households.

Senator Tinubu will lead the food distribution exercise and other activities scheduled during her visit.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the First Lady will also commission the 108-unit Muhammadu Buhari Estate at Kobape, Abeokuta.

She is further expected to commission the Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence, a 250-bed ultra-modern hospital in Abeokuta designed to provide advanced healthcare services to residents of Ogun State and neighbouring communities.

Tinubu To Meet Ogun Stakeholders

As part of her itinerary, the First Lady will hold an engagement with major stakeholders at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Her visit is expected to strengthen cooperation between the Federal and Ogun State governments in social welfare, housing and healthcare delivery.

The activities are also aimed at reinforcing both governments’ commitment to improving living conditions and access to essential services for Nigerians.
