Galatasaray Set €150m Valuation for Victor Osimhen Amid Growing Interest From Europe’s Elite
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has once again become one of the most talked-about names in the European transfer market, with reports indicating that a major European club is prepared to spend €120 million in an attempt to secure the services of the prolific Nigerian forward.
Despite the enormous financial proposal reportedly being discussed behind the scenes, Turkish champions Galatasaray have shown little interest in entertaining negotiations, reinforcing their determination to keep one of the club’s most influential players ahead of the new campaign.
The latest development adds another chapter to what has become one of the summer’s most closely watched transfer sagas, with Osimhen continuing to attract admiration from several of Europe’s biggest clubs following another outstanding season in front of goal.
European Giants Continue to Circle
According to Turkish transfer expert Burhan Can Terzi, representatives of an unnamed European club have already approached Galatasaray officials with an indication that they are prepared to pay as much as €120 million for the Nigerian international.
Although the proposal represents one of the biggest potential transfers involving an African footballer, Terzi revealed that the Turkish Super Lig champions did not respond positively to the initial approach.
Instead, Galatasaray reportedly made it clear that retaining Osimhen remains their priority as preparations continue for another domestic title challenge and a return to European competition.
“A European club has informed Galatasaray officials that they are willing to pay a transfer fee of €120m for Osimhen. Galatasaray management did not provide a favourable response. Should Galatasaray approve negotiations, a formal offer will be submitted,” Terzi was quoted as saying.
The comments suggest that while significant financial interest exists, discussions have not progressed to the stage of a formal bid because the Turkish club has yet to open the door to negotiations.
Galatasaray Determined to Keep Their Star
Galatasaray’s stance reflects the immense value the club places on Osimhen after his remarkable impact since joining the Istanbul giants on a permanent basis.
The Nigerian striker quickly established himself as the focal point of the club’s attack, delivering goals consistently while playing a decisive role in another successful league campaign.
His performances helped Galatasaray successfully defend the Turkish Super Lig title, further strengthening his reputation as one of Europe’s most complete centre-forwards.
Club officials reportedly believe replacing a player of Osimhen’s quality would prove extremely difficult, especially with the team aiming to compete strongly both domestically and in continental competitions.
For that reason, Galatasaray appear willing to reject even substantial financial offers unless their own valuation is met.
Outstanding Season Sparks Transfer Frenzy
Osimhen’s statistics underline why some of Europe’s biggest clubs remain eager to sign him.
The 27-year-old enjoyed another exceptional campaign, scoring 22 goals while contributing eight assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
Beyond the impressive numbers, his all-round performances showcased the qualities that have made him one of the continent’s most feared attackers.
His pace, aerial ability, relentless pressing, intelligent movement and clinical finishing made him one of the standout performers in Turkish football throughout the season.
Those displays have inevitably fuelled speculation linking him with a return to one of Europe’s top five leagues.
Europe’s Biggest Clubs Monitoring Situation
Several elite clubs have been repeatedly mentioned as potential destinations for the Super Eagles striker.
French champions Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly continued monitoring his situation as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
English Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with the Nigerian international, with both sides expected to reinforce their forward lines before the new season begins.
Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have similarly emerged as admirers, particularly amid reports that Argentine forward Julian Alvarez could leave the club for Barcelona.
Should such a move materialise, Osimhen is believed to be among the leading candidates identified as a possible replacement.
While no official offers have been confirmed publicly by the interested clubs, the continued speculation highlights Osimhen’s growing status within European football.
Club President Sends Strong Message
Further insight into Galatasaray’s position has been provided by respected Turkish football commentator Nevzat Dindar.
According to Dindar, he recently discussed Osimhen’s future directly with Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek, who reportedly made the club’s intentions unmistakably clear.
“I spoke with the president in Kemerburgaz. He absolutely does not intend to sell Osimhen. There are offers worth €120m through intermediaries, but they are not concrete. The priority is for Osimhen to stay with the team. But if Osimhen wants to leave, Galatasaray will not accept an offer below €150m. Osimhen also has no intention of leaving,” Dindar told Milliyet.
The statement indicates that while informal interest has been communicated through intermediaries, Galatasaray have yet to receive an offer they consider sufficiently concrete to begin negotiations.
€150 Million Asking Price Raises the Stakes
Perhaps the most significant revelation is Galatasaray’s reported valuation of the Nigerian striker.
According to Dindar, the club would only consider negotiations if an offer reaches at least €150 million.
Such a valuation would immediately place Osimhen among the most expensive footballers in history and would represent one of the largest transfer fees ever paid for an African player.
The figure is also likely to narrow the list of clubs capable of completing such a deal.
Only a handful of Europe’s financial heavyweights possess both the resources and willingness to commit that level of investment to a single player.
Even then, clubs would also need to agree personal terms and satisfy Financial Fair Play considerations before any transfer could be finalised.
Osimhen Reportedly Happy in Istanbul
Another factor working in Galatasaray’s favour is the player’s reported desire to remain at the club.
According to Dindar, Osimhen himself currently has no intention of seeking an exit.
That position is understood to align with Galatasaray’s own ambitions of maintaining the core of a squad capable of competing for further silverware.
The apparent mutual commitment between player and club significantly strengthens Galatasaray’s negotiating position.
Without pressure from the player to leave, the Turkish champions are under little obligation to lower their valuation or entertain offers they consider insufficient.
Transfer Window Still Has Time to Run
Despite Galatasaray’s firm stance, transfer speculation surrounding Osimhen is unlikely to disappear anytime soon.
The summer transfer window remains open, leaving interested clubs with time to assess their options and potentially return with improved proposals.
Football’s transfer market has often demonstrated that positions can change rapidly as deadlines approach, particularly when clubs receive unexpected offers or adjust their recruitment priorities.
For now, however, Galatasaray appear confident that their prized striker will remain in Istanbul.
Unless a club is willing to meet the reported €150 million asking price—or circumstances change dramatically—Osimhen looks set to continue leading the Turkish champions’ attack.
One of Europe’s Most Coveted Forwards
Over the past several seasons, Victor Osimhen has consistently established himself among Europe’s elite strikers.
His ability to score goals in different leagues, combined with his physical attributes, work rate and leadership qualities, has ensured his name remains near the top of transfer wish lists across the continent.
Whether he ultimately stays in Turkey or secures another blockbuster move later in the window, the Nigerian international is expected to remain one of football’s biggest transfer stories throughout the summer.
For now, Galatasaray have made their position unmistakably clear: their star striker is not for sale—unless a truly extraordinary offer arrives.
