The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismissed five volunteer personnel from its service over allegations of unethical conduct, unprofessional behaviour, and gross indiscipline.

The affected individuals are Yakubu Mubarak Yusuf, Isma’il Muhd, Adamu Auwalu, Abdulrazaq Suleiman, and Ahmad Sarki.

The development was announced on Tuesday in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi.

According to the statement, the dismissal was approved by the State Commandant, Mohammed Agalama, following a review of the personnel’s actions, which were found to be inconsistent with the Corps’ ethical principles, operational standards, and core values.

“The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, approved the dismissal of the five volunteer personnel over misconduct, which is contrary to the Corps’ values, ethics and operational standards,” the statement said.

As part of the disciplinary action, the command confirmed that all official items issued to the affected personnel, including uniforms, identification materials, accoutrements, and other operational kits, have been withdrawn and confiscated.

The Commandant also directed area commanders, divisional officers, and other relevant officers across the state to take note of the decision and ensure that the dismissed individuals are no longer recognised or engaged in any capacity on behalf of the Corps.

Reaffirming the command’s commitment to discipline and accountability, Agalama stressed that the NSCDC maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward acts capable of bringing the organisation into disrepute. He warned that any personnel found engaging in conduct that tarnishes the image of the Corps would face appropriate disciplinary sanctions.

“The NSCDC Kano State Command remains committed to professionalism, integrity, and efficient service delivery in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities,” the statement added.
